Coins, Gifts, Diamonds and rewards are not the same thing

TikTok uses several virtual-item labels, and collapsing them into a single exchange rate creates most of the confusion. Coins are digital items an eligible viewer can buy from TikTok and use to activate Gifts or certain other platform features. Gifts are the animated or visual reactions selected in a video or LIVE. TikTok may allocate Diamonds to an eligible creator as a measure of popularity and contribution. A separate rewards process determines whether the creator is eligible for a payment or another benefit.

This is not a direct transfer of cash from one user to another. TikTok's current Virtual Items Policy explicitly says that activating a Gift does not transfer money, Coins or anything of value to the recipient. It also says Diamonds do not automatically entitle a creator to a reward payment. That is why a simple claim such as 'the creator receives half' is not reliable enough for budgeting.

Terms, feature names and eligibility differ by country and can change. Read the policy offered to your account at the time of purchase or participation. The balance and checkout screens inside TikTok are more authoritative than a static chart on a blog, including this one.

How the viewer side works

An eligible viewer buys a Coin package through an authorized TikTok purchase flow. The account balance increases by the package amount. When Gifts are available on a video or LIVE, the interface displays each Gift and the number of Coins required to activate it. Selecting and confirming a Gift deducts that number from the viewer's balance and displays the reaction according to the feature's current behavior.

TikTok says users generally need to be at least 18, or the age of majority where that is higher, to buy, use or collect certain virtual items. Some regions apply a different local age threshold. Availability can also depend on country, account standing, the content and the particular feature. A missing Gift button does not necessarily mean the app is broken.

Coins stay inside TikTok's system. They are not ordinary currency, cannot be sent to another user as cash and generally cannot be sold through an outside market. The current policy also describes restrictions on transfer, refunds and account termination. Review those terms before loading a large balance instead of assuming unused Coins behave like money in a bank account.

How much does a Galaxy cost right now?

Open an eligible LIVE or other Gift-enabled surface, tap Gift and locate Galaxy in the current catalog. The Coin number shown beneath it is the current cost for that account and context. Then open TikTok's authorized Coin purchase screen and calculate what the required Coins would cost using a package you can actually buy. That two-step check is the safest answer because TikTok can change the gift catalog, Coin requirement, package sizes, currency and local pricing.

Many web articles repeat one historic Coin count or convert it to a fixed dollar figure. Even if that number matched one account when published, it may not match your region, platform, tax treatment or date. A Gift can be renamed, temporarily unavailable or presented at a different Coin cost. Avoid putting a dollar label on it until the checkout screen shows the total you would pay.

The same rule applies to Rose, Lion, Universe and every other named Gift. Use static lists to recognize the catalog, not as price guarantees. If the Coin requirement is absent or the Gift is not in your panel, do not buy a package on the assumption it will appear after payment.

Why a Coin has no single dollar value

TikTok's current policy says the cost per Coin can differ depending on how many you buy and where you buy them. The checkout total can also reflect currency, taxes or charges, while a payment provider may impose separate exchange or transaction fees. Dividing one package price by its Coin count gives the unit cost for that package at that moment, not a permanent global exchange rate.

Compare only authorized options available to you. TikTok supports in-app purchases through app stores and, in supported countries, purchases through its website. Gift cards may exist in some locations. The website is sometimes priced differently from an in-app flow, but it is not honest to promise that it is always cheaper. Open both official totals, include any displayed charges and choose based on the actual amount due.

Larger packages can have a different unit cost, yet a lower unit price does not make overspending economical. Decide how much real money you are comfortable treating as entertainment, then select the smallest appropriate package. Never borrow, use essential funds or chase recognition in a LIVE by repeatedly recharging.

What an eligible creator receives

TikTok may use Gifts and other engagement to allocate Diamonds to eligible creators. Current support describes Diamonds as a way to recognize popularity, ranking and contributions. The policy says popularity measured in Diamonds is one of several factors TikTok can consider when deciding rewards. It does not publish a universal promise that a specific Gift becomes a fixed number of Dollars, Pounds or Euros for every creator.

A creator should use the LIVE rewards or balance area in the app to see the information TikTok provides for that account. TikTok can apply program terms, account-standing requirements and adjustments. If activity appears to violate its rules, the policy allows TikTok to reduce associated Diamonds. Screenshots from another creator cannot establish what your own account will receive.

For planning, separate three figures: the viewer's checkout cost, the Coin requirement shown for the Gift and the creator's reward information shown by TikTok. Do not infer the third by multiplying the first two by a popular internet percentage. The relationship is controlled by current platform and rewards terms rather than an open currency market.

Eligibility for Gifts, Diamonds and rewards

Availability is not determined by one follower number alone. TikTok's current Diamonds guidance lists living in a supported country, meeting the applicable age requirement, being eligible for relevant features and keeping the account in good standing. Individual Gifts programs can have additional requirements. LIVE access, receiving LIVE Gifts and receiving Gifts on ordinary videos are related but separate capabilities.

Check the current eligibility page in your app or TikTok's official support center for the exact program. A threshold quoted in an old tutorial may belong to another feature, market or year. If you meet the visible criteria but the control is missing, update the app, review account notifications and use Report a problem rather than changing account details or buying followers solely to chase an outdated threshold.

Age information must be truthful. Do not use someone else's identity or payment method to bypass a restriction. A parent or guardian cannot simply convert an ineligible minor's account into an eligible creator account by making the purchase on another device.

Creator payouts, timing and taxes

If TikTok offers your account a monetary reward, the available method, minimum or maximum, review process, currency and timing should be shown in the relevant rewards or withdrawal flow. These details can vary by jurisdiction and program. Do not plan a bill around a blog's promise of an instant transfer or a fixed daily withdrawal ceiling.

Complete identity and payment verification only inside official TikTok or named payment-provider flows. Make sure the legal name and account details are accurate before requesting a withdrawal. Keep copies of transaction records, reward statements and any platform fees. If a payout is pending, use in-app Help and feedback and provide the transaction reference without publishing private documents in comments.

Creator rewards may have tax and reporting consequences, but the rules depend on residence, business structure and local law. TikTok's displayed balance is not personalized tax advice. Preserve records and ask a qualified local professional when the amounts are material; do not apply a universal percentage copied from a creator in another country.

Refunds, chargebacks and spending controls

A Gift is generally consumed when activated, and TikTok's current policies place significant limits on refunds for virtual items. Purchase rights can also depend on the app store and local consumer law. Read the confirmation screen before paying and contact the payment channel named on the receipt when the issue concerns an in-app purchase.

If a child or another person used your device, secure the account and payment method first. Change compromised passwords, enable platform and device purchase protections, preserve receipts and report unauthorized activity through official channels. Filing a chargeback without understanding the transaction can lead to restrictions while the dispute is reviewed, so follow the relevant provider's process and be accurate.

TikTok provides transaction and Coin history in supported versions. Review it periodically and set a personal cap before opening a LIVE. A Gift limit notification, where available, is a guardrail rather than a challenge to continue. Viewer recognition is temporary; financial consequences are not.

Avoid Coin generators and unofficial sellers

There is no legitimate external generator that can add Coins to TikTok's account ledger. A site offering free Coins may be collecting passwords, payment data, session cookies, survey revenue or malicious downloads. A seller offering a private transfer conflicts with the platform's restrictions and can involve stolen payment methods or an account that is later reclaimed.

Use TikTok's app, its official website purchase route where available, or an officially supported gift-card redemption flow. Check the domain carefully, navigate there yourself and never paste a login code into a chat. TikTok support will not ask for your password or a one-time verification code to troubleshoot a Coin balance.

If you already entered credentials on an unknown site, change the TikTok password from a trusted device, review logged-in devices, enable two-step verification and secure the connected email account. Contact the bank or payment provider promptly if card details were exposed. Do not pay a second person who claims they can recover the first payment.

Troubleshooting a missing balance or Gift

Confirm that you are signed into the account that made the purchase, then check the receipt and TikTok transaction history. Restart the official app and allow a reasonable synchronization period. Do not repeatedly buy the same package while the first transaction is unresolved, because that can create duplicate charges rather than fixing a delay.

For a missing Gift button, verify age and regional availability, account standing and whether that video or LIVE permits Gifts. The creator may not be eligible or may have disabled a feature. A catalog item can also be unavailable without the whole gifting system being down.

When contacting support, include the order identifier, purchase date, platform, currency and a screenshot that hides full payment details. Route app-store billing problems to the store listed on the receipt and TikTok-balance problems through TikTok's Report a problem flow. Keep communication inside official channels.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Galaxy on TikTok?
Check the Coin amount under Galaxy in your current Gift panel, then price those Coins through the authorized checkout available to your account. Gift costs, packages, currencies, taxes and regional availability can change, so a fixed web figure may be wrong.
How much is 1,000 TikTok Coins?
There is no universal cash value. TikTok says the cost per Coin can differ by package and purchase location. Divide the current checkout total by its package count and include displayed taxes or payment fees.
What percentage of a Gift does the creator get?
TikTok does not promise a universal public percentage. Gifts can inform Diamonds, and Diamonds are one factor in reward eligibility. Creators should rely on the reward information in their own account rather than a fixed half-of-spend rule.
Is buying TikTok Coins on the website cheaper?
It may be priced differently in supported countries, but it is not guaranteed to be cheaper for every package and region. Compare the final totals shown by TikTok's authorized web and in-app flows before paying.
Can you get free TikTok Coins from a generator?
No legitimate third-party generator can write to TikTok's Coin ledger. Avoid sites asking for credentials, codes, downloads, surveys or payment to unlock free Coins.
How old do you need to be to buy or receive TikTok Gifts?
TikTok generally requires at least age 18, or the age of majority if higher, for certain virtual items; local thresholds and program requirements can differ. Check the terms presented for your country and feature.
How long does a TikTok creator withdrawal take?
There is no safe universal promise. Timing depends on the rewards program, verification, destination and region. Use the estimate shown in your account's current withdrawal flow and contact official support for an overdue transaction.
